HTC ONE (M8)

HTC ONE (M8)

So it's all the more impressive that HTC, fresh from making the best-looking phone of 2013, has managed to make the HTC One (M8), a phone crammed full of power and great features while improving the design that won it so many accolades. The poor naming aside, the One (M8) is a phone that takes the superb DNA of last year's device, improves it in nearly every area and then packs it full of all the latest technology and still finds space to pack in a microSD card slot. On top of that the chassis has been retooled to now be made of 90% metal, up from around 70% last year, and the result is a brushed aluminium design that seems compelling the second you lay eyes on it. Of course, the One (M8) isn't a phone that's going to be to everyone's tastes. IPHONE 6

                                 IPHONE 6

The new iPhone could be one of the most pivotal devices in the Cupertino brand's history - with the the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C simple updates to previous models, there's a lot of pressure heaped on the iPhone 6. One thing is for sure, with the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2 launched (plus HTC One M8 review now out in wild showing a truly stunning phone), Apple will need to be on its game with the new handset - and many believe a bigger screen is simply a must. The iPhone 6 release date will be in 2014, although exactly when that will be in the year is still a little unclear. Here's what we think is most likely to happen: at WWDC in June this year we'll see the obvious release of iOS 8, but also a larger-screened iPhablet as Apple looks to bring itself to the fore in Asian markets and rivalling the likes of the Galaxy Note 3. After that, Apple will launch the iPhone 6 in September, along with the iWatch and the first view of iOS 8, to allow it to both bring a new product to market as well as keeping its schedule safe. Suggestions of both sizes arriving September could also hold water - but only if Apple keeps both products under the iPhone name. If if splits the larger device under a new name (we can't see 'iPhad' being a thing) then a June and September launch could make sense. According to Business Insider, of the many iPhone 6 prototypes Apple has made, one has a giant Retina+ IGZO display and a "new form factor with no home button. Gesture control is also possibly included." It will surely include Apple's new Touch ID finger print tech. The Retina+ Sharp IGZO display would have a 1080p Full HD resolution. The power button will be moved to the side of the phone to make it easier for one-handed use. The power button on top of the phone would make it too hard to use. Apple may include a near field communications chip (NFC), which we doubt happens. Apple has never had NFC. One more detail: It's getting an A8 chip, which is a bump from the previous generation's processor.

Will the iPhone 6 really take design clues from the iPad Nano?

SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 4

                                SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 4

Ya, you read it right, guys. SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 4 is going to launch near September this year! For the Galaxy Note 4 release date, it appears that Samsung is observing the same release cycle from last year by opting to unveil the phablet flagship via the 2014 IFA gadget show in Berlin, Germany and making it available in the immediate weeks to follow. According to The Korea Times report on Wednesday, which quoted an unnamed Samsung official as saying: "Samsung is considering holding a launch event of the Note 4 at the IFA trade fair." In the past, the German city and the IFA gathering hosted the previous Galaxy Note arrivals and the latest statement seems to suggest that the Galaxy phablet maker is keeping with the established tradition for its second hero smartphone.
The same executive also clarified that nothing is written in stone as far as the Galaxy Note 2014 capabilities are concerned, adding that Samsung "is in the middle of finalizing specification details for the upcoming phablet." Yet while the Note 4 specs and features remain the subject of ongoing debate for Samsung engineers, The Korea Times was given clues by the same Samsung insider on the possible make and abilities of the device.
Four of which are provided below:

  • 64-bit chip architecture:
Samsung is definitely countering the 64-bit killer punch that Apple had unleashed with the iPhone 5S last year, thanks to the slew of similarly capable Snapdragon CPUs that Qualcomm had recently unveiled. However, 64-bit chip coming to the Note 4 will greatly hinge on the dictates of the market.

  • Bendable display:
Even before the Galaxy S4 touchdown in 2013, talks of flexible display on high-end Samsung smartphone have circulating but the screen feature remains nowhere to be found even as the Galaxy S5 will soon hit the market. Chances are curved display, touted for its extra durability, will finally appear in time for the Galaxy Note 4 later this year as Samsung told The Korea Times that bendable screen "is one possible option," for the device.

  • Ultra High Definition (UHD) screen resolution:
Many of the Note 4 specs and features are yet to be finalised but Samsung seems confident that in the area of display panel quality, the upcoming phablet will certainly deliver the best technology. The Note 4 will come in variants that offer an array of screen prowess from Full HD, Quad HD and Ultra HD, Samsung said. UHD screen is defined as boasting of an eye-popping render of 3840 x 2160 pixels for the Galaxy Note 4.

  • Superfast LTE-Advanced connectivity:
Apart from the IP67 certification that makes the Galaxy S5 water and dust resistant, another Galaxy flagship standard that Samsung has introduced this year is LTE-Advanced cellular chip, which for the upscale Galaxy devices date back to a Galaxy S4 edition. Samsung has confirmed that the Note 4 is LTE-A compatible in most markets where the high-speed wireless network infra is available.
